The Beit Din of Austria was established in 2017 by Rabbi Yaakov Hotoveli, Rabbi Arie Folger, and Rabbi Joseph Pardess. It is officially recognised by the Chief Rabbinate of the State of Israel and the European Rabbinical Conference, and it also enjoys recognition from various other international rabbinical organisations, including the Rabbinical Council of America and the Agudas HoRabbonim, among others.

The Beit Din of Austria provides a full range of services, including religious divorces (Gittin), conversions to Judaism (Gijurim), and serves as an arbitration court for interpersonal disputes (Dinej Torah). Additionally, it addresses issues related to personal status, such as the documentation of Jewish identity in complex cases.

The arbitration court is chaired by Rabbi Joseph Pardess, and it handles financial disputes that may arise between business partners, heirs, spouses, and others. The other Dayanim of the Beit Din are Rabbi Arie Folger, the former Chief Rabbi of the IKG Vienna, and Rabbi Sender Garber. Typically, when the Beit Din convenes, three of the four listed rabbis form the “Herkew” (the team) responsible for addressing the specific matter at hand.
